Claims Workspace™ vs. Estimate™: Key Differences and Use Cases

The Cotality claims system is made up of two components, Claims Workspace™ and Estimate™. The same login information is used to access both.  This article explains the basic function of each component and how they work together. 



Claims Workspace™: Comprehensive Claims Management


Claims Workspace™ is a robust claims management platform designed to streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, and expedite property claim resolutions. It centralises claims data, automates key processes, and ensures secure, seamless claim handling from start to finish. With smart automation and real-time insights, it empowers teams to work more efficiently, delivering faster and more accurate outcomes.


Key Features:

  • Centralised Data Repository: All claim-related information, including documents and photos, is stored in one secure location.
  • Enhanced Collaboration: Facilitates communication among claim handlers, adjusters, and other stakeholders throughout the claims process.
  • Workflow Automation: Automates routine tasks to reduce manual effort and minimise errors.
  • Real-Time Insights: Provides up-to-date information to support informed decision-making.


What is it? Claims Workspace™ is the online component of the system.

Who uses it? An Administrator, manager, or supervisor will spend most of their time working in Claims Workspace™.  It is a hub of information where all claims data is stored out in the cloud.  

What is it used for? This is where you can set notifications, assign claims, review schedules, and perform other various administrative tasks.  



 

Estimate™: Accurate Damage Assessment


Estimate™ is a specialised tool designed to help users document property damage comprehensively and generate accurate schedules for every claim. It reduces loss adjusting expenses and avoids claims leakage by utilising more efficient claims workflow processes.


Key Features:

  • Detailed Damage Documentation: Allows for thorough recording of property damage, including photos and measurements.
  • Accurate Estimations: Utilises industry-standard databases and algorithms to produce precise repair and replacement cost estimates.
  • Integration Capabilities: Seamlessly connects with other solutions to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Efficiency in Claims Processing: Streamlines the estimation process, leading to faster claim resolutions.
  • Synchronising: Synchronisation begins the exchange of information between Estimate and Workspace.
    An Internet connection is required for the synchronisation process.


What is it? Estimate™ is the software that sits locally on your Windows computer, tablet, or smart phone.

Who uses it? An adjuster, surveyor or contractor will spend most of their time working in Estimate™.

What is it used for? This is where you can diagram a loss, apply line items from the database, and scope a schedule.
