Technical Specifications

1. Hardware

• Any Personal Computer (PC) – desktop, laptop, tablet, or slate.
• 900 MHz CPU
• 4 GB RAM
• XVGA (1024x768 or 768x1024 in portrait mode) or higher screen resolution
• A higher screen resolution is recommended to aid usability.
• 1 GB available disk space on your hard drive
• Internet Connection – either wired or wireless, configured to allow traffic.
• Although Estimate is designed to work offline, an internet connection is required for fundamental features (such as account authentication, download and upload of claims information and pricing data)

2. Software

• Windows 10 1903 (18362), Windows Server 2019 (18362) 64 Bit or newer will be required to run Estimate and is supported. 
• Any current generation Browser (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari). Please note that Edge Users will only be able to use later builds of Edge that are Chromium based. 
• Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled.

4. Traffic Direction

When a user works in Estimate, it will initiate the traffic to the server (Claim Workspace webapp). Claims Workspace doesn’t initiate the traffic with Estimate.

When a user works in Claims Workspace, the user initiates the traffic to the server by using their web browser. Claims Workspace does not initiate the traffic with the web browser. 

5. Proxy Support

Use of a proxy must be explicitly configured in the preferences for Estimate. The application does not support use of the default proxy configured through Internet Options. Estimate only supports basic authentication for proxy connections. 

6. Use of Remote Desktop/Multi-user Environments

6.1 Important Background Information for Terminal Server

Cotality does not support the installation of our Estimate software on servers or in multi-user environments. We can provide information that may assist a technical team tailor their installations, but that institute will be fully responsible for the troubleshooting and support of the software in that environment. Estimate uses local database files which are not designed for multi-user access. It may fail periodically due to file locking issues, especially for users working on the same claim, and it will fail when the database locks itself in maintenance during a multi-user session. There is no remedy at this time, and none can be expected in the foreseeable future. 

6.2 Recommended Solutions for Terminal Server Setup

Have each user with their own unique Estimate folder with all the executables and DLL libraries – the size is under 30MB without the database. Depending on how your drives are setup, you could possibly put this in their home folder (assuming every user has access to the same drive letter as their home folder when they login – ex: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Corelogic Mobile Claims\).

Estimate does not need to be installed on a machine using our setup package to run, but it needs the following COM libraries to be registered in the registry. 

pocketHTTP.dll

pSOAP32.dll

psDime.dll

(e.g.: regsvr32 pocketHTTP.dll). Depending on how your terminal server is setup, if all users have access to the same registry hive for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then you only need to install Estimate (or manually register the libraries) once. 

6.3 High Level Steps

1. Install Estimate on a machine.
2. Copy the contents of the Estimate folder (about 30MB) to the home folder of each user.
3. Register the 3 libraries (pocketHTTP.dll, pSOAP32.dll, psDime.dll ) on the terminal server using an administrator account (if the users have access to the same registry hive for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE).
